Tony Anders spent 25 years in the beauty industry as a practitioner, educator, media personality, magazine contributor, and inspirational speaker. His continual contact with the public gave him a unique understanding and compassion for people from listening to their stories. He found we all deal with similar challenges, but our perspective and response determines our recovery from them.
His own battles give him a personal perspective on the pain and suffering people face with similar behaviors and situations. He found that being able to manage not only recovery from addiction and its collateral damage, but also other occurring circumstances can make recovery challenging to say the least. It required a thorough yet flexible plan.
This required in-depth research of certain skills and strategies found in many areas from professional care, 12-step meetings, holistic modalities, energy work, personal development strategies, EFT, Neuro Linguistic Programming, and research on the work of many inspirational and spiritual resources. These were found to be paramount to consistent deviation from the bondage of addiction and destructive behavior. His training and methods reflect what worked for him and others in moving forward and enjoying a healthy, enriching life that we all deserve.
Tony trained as a Recovery Coach with Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) in Rocky Hill, Connecticut at the Recovery Coach Academy (RCA). CCAR is one of the countries' leaders in recovery support programs and facilities, and is on the leading edge of training for Recovery Coaches.
The training focused on various aspects of: Relationship Building, Stigmas and Labels, Motivational Interviewing, Cultural Competance, Referrals, Professional Boundaries, Stages and Pathways to Recovery, Stages of Change, Spirituality and Religion, Exploring Community Resources, Various Options for Recovery, as well as extensive networking from around the country with other recovery based entities. Skill development outlined ways to remove barriers to recovery and the identification of the specific roles in recovery support.
Tony also received a diploma training as a Holistic Health Practitioner (HHP) in 2011.He trained with the Natural Healing College out of Beverly Hills, California through a distance learning class format. His training encompassed many facets of increased awarenes of how to cultivate vitality through healthful life practices. These incorporate a deep focus on the symbiotic relationship of one's body, mind, and spirit. His classes included Anatomy and Physiology, Herbal Remedies and Herbology, Nutritional Healing, Alternative Medicine, Chinese Medicine and QiGong, Detoxification, and other healing modalities.
Tony is also currently enrolled with the American Institute of Holistic Theology to receive a Bachelor's in Holistic Ministry and Theology.
He is also enrolled at Columbus State Community College studying Mental Health and Addiction Studies.
Tony is a practitioner of QiGong, and is a Reiki Master. These practices have proven essential to him in gaining understanding of how we can utilize out natural internal energies for healing, emotional stability, awareness and presence, and an overall calmer demeanor.
