"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
The Bridge Group is a place to share–a place to share your struggles as well as your wisdom. It is through being able to vocalize what we stuff deep inside, we are able to process and make sense of our challenges. There are those to who may have tread a similar path and have gained wisdom through experience. Experience that I believe is a divine responsibility to pass along to spare others from enduring pain.
It is through sharing our stories and not lectures that we grow. It is through the support of fellowship of those we find who have traveled before us-as well as beside us that we find we have strength in numbers. Sometimes it is simply having “somewhere to go” during the storm that helps us weather the challenges life hands us.
The Bridge is just that–a place to go, a place to share, and a place to have a compassionate ear for love and support and perhaps a little laughter. It is not for any particular burden as all of our obstacles stem from similar catalysts–fear, judgment, anxiety, resentments, grieving, anger, and loneliness to name a few. Whether they manifest into a relationship crisis, self-destructive behavior, addiction, spiritual conflict, or isolation–it is what lies beneath that can trip up our progress. Many deny others their wisdom or themselves from support for fear of judgment of their peers–but the fact is, we all share similar stories. We all have something to share!
If you may be suffering, or if you have suffered and wish to share what you did to get through your challenges, we welcome you to The Bridge on Monday nights at 7:00pm at All Shepherd’s Lutheran Church. You will experience a group of people who will support you, as well as benefit from your support. Sit in silence, or share your story–it is up to you. We all are seeking meaning and answers as we travel life’s journey–sometimes it is nice to have a companion or two that may be able to point out the scenery from their perspective.

UPON the bridge... we are suspended safely above the torrent as we traverse our obstacles,
AS the bridge... we offer safe passage to those whom we support as they cross theirs!
